Requirements: 

  • 3+ years professional driving experience or related work experience 
  • Must have a clean driving record with no recent moving violations 
  • Drivers Must have personal transportation to and from work daily. 
  • Driver must have truck parking space at his homeplace. 

Pay: 

  • Drivers can expect a mixture of both local and regional deliveries – 2 pay tiers will be paid 
  • 75% of the loads are regional 
  • When doing regional runs (over 200 miles from origin to destination), drivers will be paid: 
  • 0.51cpm (avg 2500-2700 miles/wk), then 0.05 CPM increase each year up to 0.535 CPM 
  • $12 stop (avg 5-12 per week) 
  • 25% of the loads are local 
  • When doing local runs (less than 200 miles from origin to destination), drivers will be paid: 
  • 0.62 CPM – then increase 0.05 CPM yearly to 0.645 CPM 
  • $25 per stop 
  • Avg weekly $1,423.00 
  • Average 1st-year earnings of $74,000 with a recent pay increase – top earner earns $90,000 plus.  
  • Training is usually 3 days, and the driver will earn mileage and stop pay as above while training.

Other Pay: 

  • Training is 3 days paid at $200/day. Drivers can expect to make it back to Lansing daily while training. 
  • Detention  $13.00 an hour after 2 hours 
  • Breakdown – $13.00 an hour after 2 hours up to $150 for the day depending on the breakdown type

Time off / Shift: 

  • Home daily each day when possible; however, drivers need to expect to stay out an average of 2 nights. 
  • Start Times: 18:00, 22:00, 02:00 am, and 06:00 am with some flexibility to start people between if drivers have a different preference. 
  • Two consecutive days off – not necessarily on the weekend, however, there are opportunities to change days for the drivers, and we can consider their requests as shifts become available. 
  • Variety of routes/shifts available once the driver has worked on the account for a period of time. As routes/shifts/days off come available, driver requests will be considered. The goal is to eventually get each driver on the shift/start time they prefer, but drivers should be patient and flexible until the account can accommodate. 

Position Details: 

  • Drivers will make NO TOUCH daily deliveries to 40 Meijer stores in Illinois (no downtown Chicago), Northern Indiana, Michigan (including Upper Peninsula) and Wisconsin. Including shuttles between 2 distribution facilities in Lansing, MI and Pleasant Prairie, WI. Drivers will be expected to pick up the majority of drop/hook backhauls back to Lansing, MI. 
  • Chicago suburb runs are the main activity on the account (but nothing in the city of Chicago). 85 to 90 per cent of runs go there from both Pleasant Prairie and Lansing 
  • Outbound store shipments are dropped and hook from the DC and at the delivery locations. 
  • Backhauls maybe drop and hook or live loads (approximately 85% drop/hook) 
  • No Passengers 
  • No Touch Freight 
  • Automatics 
  • Slip seating is only required during mandatory services. Drivers will be assigned their own tractors and will get their truck back once the service is complete. 
  • Trucks will stay at the account during home time
